What to expect

Your first session

A first session is a conversation, not a test. It lasts 50 minutes.

  1. 01

    Step 1: Before you come

You get your fee in writing and a link to the intake forms on our own portal. Please do not send medical details through this website.

  2. 02

    Step 2: The first conversation

You say what you want from therapy, what pace feels right and what you would rather leave alone for now. You can bring a parent or guardian into the room, or come on your own, if the rules for your age allow.

  3. 03

Step 3: How we would work

Your clinician explains the method, what it asks of you and what it can stir up. She also explains what stays private and what does not, and then you decide.

  4. 04

    Step 4: Before you leave

We take time to settle, agree on a next step and answer questions about fees and cancellation.

Questions

About the first session

01Do I have to talk about everything?

No. You decide what to share, and when. Many first sessions are about what you want from therapy and how the room works.

02Can my parent or guardian be there?

It depends on your age and what you want. Your clinician explains the rule that applies to you before the first session.

03Is there anything to prepare?

Nothing special. If you are coming in person, tell us if anything would make the visit easier. For video, a private spot and headphones help.
